Destin Commons new parking garage opens |

Destin, FL (November 25, 2007)…Destin Commons general manager, Darin Grigg announced the center’s new parking garage is completed, open and ready for Holiday shoppers.
“Our 6-level above ground parking deck has added 850 additional parking spaces, bringing our total parking to just under 3,000 spaces. The new deck is conveniently located adjacent to the center between Belk and Rave Motion Pictures,” commented Grigg. “Construction proceeded as planned over the months to enable us to meet our targeted opening of Thanksgiving week. The Class A office space that surrounds the parking deck will be completed at the end of January.”
Grigg further commented, “Black Friday shoppers turned out in record numbers last week with counts confirming the most traffic in one day at Destin Commons since opening in 2004. Many of the stores reported their best sales ever. Even with the new parking deck, all parking areas were filled including two overflow parking lots, grass islands, drive side lanes, truck courts and all the parking spaces in the garage that we have open to the public. This bodes well for a strong Holiday sales forecast this year.”
The architecturally unique mall spreads over 56 acres in Destin, Florida offering shopping, dining and entertainment. Destin Commons currently includes 400,000 square feet of retail and 70,000 square feet of office space. With the 6-level above ground parking deck and additional Class A office space completed, the expansion of Destin Commons will continue with Phase 2. It will include fine retail shops, award winning restaurants, an additional parking garage and a 192-room luxury hotel and a conference center.
