Destin Commons regional open-air lifestyle center named ‘Best Place To Shop’ since opening in 2003

Destin, FL (March 2008)…Award winning Destin Commons continues to set the standard as Northwest Florida’s premier open-air lifestyle center offering shopping, dining and entertainment. Serving both residents and a tourist population of over six million annual visitors to the region, the architecturally unique center has garnered a regional reputation for its well-known retail tenants and on-going community events. Concerts, community performances and charity groups are regular features throughout the center and in their pedestrian friendly Center Plaza.

Destin Commons has been in operation since November of 2003. Evidence of the center’s popularity from day one is the fact they have earned the honor of being named Best Place to Shop and Best Place to Take Kids in 2004; Best of the Best Shopping in 2005; and Best Shopping Complex in 2006 and 2007 by readers of Emerald Coast Magazine. The 56 acre center is anchored by Bass Pro Worldwide Sportsmen, Belk and Rave Motion Pictures’ 14-screen stadium style movie theatre. They include Hard Rock Café, Blue Point Fish Club, Candymaker, Coldstone Creamery, Dave’s Dogs, Destin Sno Biz, Godiva Chocolatier, Johnny Rockets, Panera Bread, Starbucks, Sushi Siam, Tony’s Ristorante, Tropical Smoothie Café and Zoe’s Kitchen.

Parents and grandparents flock to Destin Commons with their kids. Special highlights for kids include special holiday events and a nautically themed children’s soft play area with imaginative sea creatures and a lighthouse. Children can be seen year-round delighting in running in and out of the interactive 49-head pop fountain in Center Plaza.

West Tower, Destin Commons’ new class A 90,000 square foot office building opened in March, 2008. Turnberry Associates, the managing partner of Destin Commons, further announced their Phase 2 expansion which will include more fine retail shops, award winning restaurants and a 192-room luxury hotel and conference center. Site construction will begin in late spring with completion anticipated for the fall of 2009.
