Join us the first Thursday of each month for an interactive time where children will learn through reading, signing, art activities and more. A story teller will read about zoo animals and the Northwest Florida Zoo will be in attendance with furry friends and fun giveaways. Hugs and Hissyfits will feature the latest in Holiday fashions and give away gift cards and merchandise. Goody bags will be given to the first 100 guests. The event is free and geared to children aged 3 – 6. Field trips for day care groups and pre-schools can easily be arranged and will be scheduled on a first come first served basis. Celebrate five years of fabulous shopping, dining and entertainment at Destin Commons. Join in the fun as Destin Commons free First Friday Concert Series brings the ever-popular Jones & Company out for a memorable night and a birthday celebration of great music. Other highlights of the concert evening include Zakari, the balloon sculpting stilt walker. Lawn chairs and blankets are encouraged.

The Destin Commons Santa is ringing in the season with a remarkable transformation to unveil a nostalgic and memorable Norman Rockwell Holiday throughout the center. In his annual high style, Santa will arrive in Center Plaza where he will magically light the enormous 50’ interactive Christmas tree. Don’t miss the live song and dance show, “The Spirit of Christmas”, featuring professional Broadway actors from New York City in Holiday costume. The Holiday program at Destin Commons reflects the strokes of America’s favorite artist, Norman Rockwell – from the magnificent musical Christmas tree, to Santa’s station, lights twinkling up and down Main Street, and Holiday street lamp banners. There will also be exciting and educational Norman Rockwell multi-media vignettes located throughout Destin Commons and a Norman Rockwell Gallery Exhibit showing 300 covers from the artist’s famous Saturday Evening Post collection. Bring the entire family for this nostalgic Christmas time tradition.

The Norman Rockwell Gallery Exhibit will host a five-week series in which a different local artist will unveil their modern version of a Norman Rockwell Saturday Evening Post cover every Saturday from November 22 – December 20.

Wisk the family away to the holidays of yesteryear with this nostalgic movie night featuring a special viewing of The Polar Express at 7 p.m. To complete the evening, Destin Commons will have Kris Kringle’s Sweets & Treats general store open with favorite past-time goodies. Arrive early, and bring blankets and chairs to enjoy this outdoor unforgettable evening.
